Understanding Digital PTO’s User Levels (Roles)

Digital PTO offers 5 different types of user levels based on your needs. In most cases you will only need to use the Admin Level Users, but if you have many users, it may be beneficial to grant access to less functionality in order to keep other users from making drastic changes to your website.

Understanding User Roles:

Administrator – Somebody who has access to all the administration features

Editor – Somebody who can publish and manage posts and pages as well as manage other users’ posts, etc.

Author – Somebody who can publish and manage their own posts

Contributor – Somebody who can write and manage their posts but not publish them

Subscriber – Somebody who can only manage their profile

Please note that different plugins and themes can potentially treat user roles slightly differently. This may effect things like having the ability to edit a calendar event and more advanced functionality. The roles described above reflect the standard features.
