How to set up the On Screen Confirmation Messages

After one of your forms is submitted, you have the ability to adjust the on-screen confirmation message that the user sees. This tutorial explains those options.

Hover over FORM SETTINGS and then click CONFIRMATIONS. This is the message that will appear on the screen after the user submits their form. This can be as basic or as advanced as you wish. You can simply thank the user for filling out your form, or you can give them further instructions (where to send their membership dues for example).

Step 4: Edit or Create Confirmation

If you already have a default confirmation, you can hover of the title and click EDIT. If you need to create a confirmation  click the ADD NEW button.

Step 5: Select either TEXT, PAGE or Redirect

3choices

You have three choices for your confirmation screen. This is the screen a user sees after they submit your form. You can display text (the most common), you can send them to a custom page that you have created on your website, or you can re-direct them to a page that is not on your website. Typically, we suggest showing Text and will use that as the example. Go ahead and select TEXT for this tutorial.

Confirmation Type: Text

This is the most common message. You simply type the message you want to display after a form is submitted and save. You can add custom fields (the name of the person submitting the form for example) to the confirmation message for a personal touch. To add custom fields, click the down arrow to the right of the message box.

Confirmation Type: Page

page-option

This is a great option if you have more information you need (or want) your viewers to see after they submit a form. This could be a page that thanks the submitter and then provides details on what they just signed up for, additional instructions, etc. Usage is very simple, select the PAGE you want to link to from the Page drop down menu.

You can pass data via a query string by checking the box. If you have no idea what that means, don’t worry, you’re not alone. You can leave that box unchecked. :)

Confirmation Type: Redirect

redirect-type

This is a great option want to lead your users to a page that is not on your website after they fill out your form. For example, maybe they join the PTO and are then linked to the school website for additional enrollment forms. To use this option, select the REDIRECT option and then enter the URL you want to lead people to after filling out a form in the redirect URL field.
