Please note that we have a small group of plugins that will be retiring soon and action may be needed on your part.

As many of you know, we have recently switched to a new server. This server provides us with much more enhanced performance reports and in reviewing those reports, we have identified a small group of plugins that are negatively impacting the servers performance, so we have decided to immediately remove them and activate better performance alternatives. The following is a list of plugins that are scheduled to be (or have been) deactivated along with information on the timing and alternative solutions if available. Please note this list may continue to change over time and is not a final or concrete list.

GOOGLE DOCUMENT EMBEDDER

SCHEDULED FOR REMOVAL ON OR AFTER 3/27/17

We have discovered that the Google Document Embedder is negatively impacting our server speeds, so we have decided to retire that plugin and provide a much better alternative. The new Plugin is called Embed Any Document and is already in the plugin options for activation. Once activated, you will need to change any older Google Document Embedder links to the new format. The new plugin is much better for the server and substantially easier to use for our users.

 

THE EVENTS CALENDAR PRO

REMOVAL COMPLETED

The Events Calendar Pro was retired three years ago, but we still have a few schools using the calendar so we’ve kept it available. This summer we will be removing this plug in and requiring that all users switch to the better Events Calendar that is pre-installed on your website.
