It’s easy to add videos to your Digital PTO Website
We know that many parent groups have promotional videos, highlight reels and fundraising videos that they want to share with their community, so we’ve made it extremely easy to share both YouTube.com and Vimeo.com videos.
Step 1: Upload your Video to YouTube.com or Vimeo.com
The very first step is to upload your video to YouTube.com or to Vimeo.com. If you do not have an account yet, both services offer free accounts and we would recommend setting up an account specifically for your Parent Group.
Each service will assist you in getting started and uploading your first video. Once your video is uploaded and ready for viewing, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Copy the Website Address (URL)
This process is the same whether you are using YouTube or Vimeo for your video hosting. Highlight and copy the address that is listed in your web browser.
Step 3: Paste the Address (URL) in a Page or Post
Now you need to go to the News Post or Info Page that you want to add the video to. Once you are there, paste the address right into the content area. You are NOT creating a traditional link, you are just pasting the address in plain text.
AGAIN – YOU DO NOT WANT TO CREATE A LINK. If your website url that you paste is blue, that will not work. It need to be just the text.
Step 4: Save and Preview your Work
Update your Page/Post and preview your work!
You’ll notice in the example above that the video address that was not a link is showing the video on the page and the address that was turned into a link is simply a link to the video on YouTube.
